Kaeng Krachan National Park, part of the Tenasserim mountain range, boasts rich biodiversity with over 400 bird species. Declared as a national park on 12th June 1981 and listed as a World Heritage Site in July 2021, Kaeng Krachan National Park is one of the best national parks in the country. Likely no other protected site in the country has such a big variety of animals.
The park is very popular for wildlife watching, camping, hiking and it’s impressive viewpoints for the sea of mist. Tigers, panther, and leopards are often spotted, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Renowned for butterfly studies, its biological diversity has earned it the status of a world heritage site in Thailand.

Commence walking the trail to observe diverse bird spicies, plants and butterflies. There are over 400 bird species found all through the year in the park.

Enjoy lunch and unwind by the stream.

Proceed along the trail, observing various animals. Mammal species such as leopards, clouded leopards, bears, stump-tailed macaques, sambar deer, barking deer, elephants, dholes, golden jackals, gaurs, serows, yellow-throated martens, various civet species, crab-eating mongooses and many others can be found in the park.

Depart for the reservoir. Visit Kaeng Krachan Dam, Thailand’s largest earthen dam, and observe a group of water birds near the reservoir. Enjoy a boat trip to witness monkeys playfully jumping into the water to cool off - a cute and adorable sight.
